A letter from Larry Marshall. I grew up in Texas, playing with stone tools that my brother and I had found in the Mt. Franklin mountain range behind our home. I now look back, wonder what we did with them, and realize what they were worth. Many years passed with very few memories of finding any more arrowheads or stone tools, until I moved to Utah. This State is rich in stone artifacts and famous for their dinosaur fossils. I have seen dozens of location where flakes are abundant, but never seem to find anything. You have to wonder how many of these found artifacts are stored in shoe boxes, in everyone's basement, and will never be enjoyed by others. It has been easier and more fun to make them than find them. In November of 2005, I met a gentleman ,Bo Earls, who was giving free classes on knapping, and had started a local knapping club UTAH VALLEY KNAPPLING ASSOCIATION . This new hobby brought an end to my golfing and fishing. I am now proud to say im a Knapper. Hope you enjoy the new website designed by mjmDigital.com . (My Sons Company) There will be updates periodically on sale items and links to some good friends. I have plenty of Utah Obsidian and I'm always looking for new rock to knap, so drop me a line if you want to swap.
